Copyright registering online, need to wait or can publish?

Anyone know if I need to wait before publishing my work when I electronically upload my file to the us copyright website? I already submitted to them and uploaded the file (have no idea if it went through as far as uploading) but I would like to publish my book soon on createspace. Thoughts?

Thank you!

No you do not need to wait. Many creators never even bother with registering for copyright, as they consider it superfluous.

You don't need to wait! Copyright registration is actually retro-active. As long as you register your work within three months of the work’s publication date, or before any copyright infringement begins, you'll be protected and able to recover attorney’s fees and statutory damages up to $150,000 if any infringement happens.

You can learn more about how copyright works here (there's a handy video summarizing everything).
